A three-lug, 70-degree bolt that provides ample scope clearance and utilizes a full bolt body and dual-cocking cams for smooth, easy cycling from the shoulder. The American Rifle's lightweight, ergonomic stock blends a classic look and modern forend contouring and grip serrations and has a soft rubber recoil pad that's crafted for maximum shock reduction.     I purchased the Ruger American in 243win to use as small pest control and to use on the farm for protection from yotes. It shoot well very well and is very light my set up is lest then 7 pounds which is nice the rifle does not kick and has a adjustable triger which was nice but I did not change it becasue it felt light them my 700 BDL in 30-06. I like the safty and how smoth the bolt operates and the magazine fucntion great just wish Ruger would have included a extra.

      I purchased this gun back in October and man it is a awesome rifle to have. I just shot my first deer a couple days ago and man it is a deadly gun to own, you will not be disappointed one bit. I also have bought a Nikon 3-9x40 for it to and man what a good beginner setup, only weighting at 7.5 lbs with scope is very impressing. This gun will do the job at every target you put in its way. This Ruger American rifle is a very Hot gun on the market now , so you better get yours quick before the prices go up next year..!!

            This gun is one of the nicest rifles for hunting and just having fun. I have it in a 270 caliber which means very fast velocity and bullets get big so you can hunt anything from northern to southern whitetail, and anything bigger such as moose, bear, goat/ram,elk,etc.
