Comments about Rossi 44 Magnum Lever Action w/20" Round Blue Barrel/Walnut Stock:

This rifle is a blast to shoot! Just for reference, I'm 6'1" 180lbs. For me the "kick" was perfect. You know it's there, but it doesn't "hurt" (put 100 rounds through it in on session). LOP is on the short side for someone with longer arms but I knew that would be the case before I bought. I bought this rifle for the enjoyment of shooting a lever action rifle (who doesn't want to be a cowboy) with the idea I may use it for hunting in the future.

The buckhorn sights with this rifle are just that....open...iron...sights. If you're looking to drive nails with these sights, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking to be within "the ballpark" you'll be happy (I'm happy).

I'm keeping this rifle "as is". It's a good shooter, the action is smooth (no failure to feed, no failure to fire, no failure to extract), the sights are the way I wanted them...."old school"...and everything that comes with that.

            My 2 cents anyway...

Pretty accurate out of the box. Decent construction. Fun to shoot. Haven't had any issues with the rifle. For the price it's a pretty good gun.

Comments about Rossi 44 Magnum Lever Action w/20" Round Blue Barrel/Walnut Stock:

Such a good looking rifle. I took the action apart using You tube videos as a tool to help me through the steps. I then used my dremel (lightly) and some common sense to clean up the rough areas of the action. I also trimmed the ejecter spring back some which helped a lot. I had trouble sighting it in but it was my fault. I wasn't keeping the barel down very well at first. Now it cycles nice, and with more ammo run through it I think it will really smooth up even more. In hindsight I should have bought an older Remington, but I guess I'll have to break this in myself.
