Comments about Rockford Fosgate RFX9400 Receiver/Media Controller:
I use this on my salt water boat. I have 2 speakers and it puts out a great sound. The biggest cons are it does not charge the ipod and the ipod connection corrided after 3 months and would no longer connect to the ipod, and I clean my electronics after every use. I would say buy this only if you have a fresh water application

Comments about Rockford Fosgate RFX9400 Receiver/Media Controller:
I installed this in my fishing boat and have an additional dedicated amp for a 8" sub. As the volume is increased, the background will start pulsing. There is no shortage of power as it and the sub are connected to 2 separate deepcycle batteries. After the winter storage, i needed to reset the clock. I have lost the manual, but figured it would be on-line - no so. I have emailed and called Rockford and they keep referring the RFX9400 head unit, not this media controller. Why would a company name two separate items the same??? Now I know i have to connect it up right at noon to have the time display right.

Comments about Rockford Fosgate RFX9400 Receiver/Media Controller:
Installed this head unit in our deck boat. We were so pleased with it, we just bought a second one for our son's boat. All we needed was a way to connect our ipod and this works perfectly - real simple - press mode once and AUX appears. You can also use the special cable they ship with it to control the ipod but we find it suitable to use AUX. If you don't need to play CD's, you may want to get one of these before they are gone - it seems it may be discontinued?, not sure.....

A:
I'd guess about the same. Get an amp instead of a new head unit if you want to play loud without distortion.Answered on 9/14/2011 by Anthony from Michigan
