Designed by John Browning, the Model 1911 was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985 and is still carried by some U.S. forces today. The Model 1911's longevity is due to Browning's often-imitated design, which incorporates the short recoil principle. The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. Rock Island Armory makes a 1911A1 clone that may be the most loyal to the original design. These pistols are manufactured with ordnance grade 4140 steel and all parts are compatible with original 1911 United States GI models. This combo includes the original 9mm barrel along with an extra .22 LR barrel. The pistol also features an adjustable rear sight and 2-position and grip safeties and includes a 16-round magazine and the original factory hard case Its wood, metal, and bore are all in very good condition.
