Zebco has a newer reel that is as good as this one with level wind and stainless steel bearings and construction. Omega spincast cost more, but maybe worth it to you.

I just like to fish and don't need expensive equipment endorsed by a pro. This combo is perfect. It has lots of solid features and is easy to use. I'm no pro and I'm far from a novice but this combo is a winner.
