  One side of the housing is red lens (left). The other side is black. It does not light the trailer, but can be seen from the side. The picture as shown is a passenger side lamp.

  The bulbs are in a water tight cover. You can't replace just the bulb, you need to replace the inner light module, or just replace the whole light fixture for about the same price.

  Yes it has a tag light built in. It is a complete unit, just snip the wires to your old taillight, remove it from the trailer, and reverse the procedure to install this taillight.
