Comments about Remington UMC 223 Remington Rifle Ammunition, 40-Round Value Pack:
good coyote bullet. this hollow-point round is easy on pelts. usually no exit hole. maybe just a little shrapnel. though accuracy could be slightly better, still very good for the money.

Comments about Remington UMC 223 Remington Rifle Ammunition, 40-Round Value Pack:
THESE ROUNDS DEFINITELY CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT REMINGTON UMC LOADS, AND "BUDGET" AMMO IN GENERAL!I usually handload my own, and I especially used to stay away from "budget" ammo like the "bonus pack" Remington UMC's, but I picked up 2 boxes in 2009 when I was teaching my fiancee to shoot, since they were cheap ([$] for 40rnds).We bought the first 2 boxes so she could learn, but after seeing how well they shot out of her rifle (Savage 12BVSS .223rem), we're sticking with it. Her TYPICAL groups can be covered with a dime, and her BEST groups come in at 0.1-0.15"... Just one ragged hole! Very impressive for a "budget" factory round and a factory rifle, especially a JHP!I've also used these for high volume Prairie Dog shooting, as well as coyote hunting out of the Savage 12, and a few AR-15's (Bushmaster Varminter and Superlight Carbine, and DPMS Lo-Pro Classic). I haven't found a 1 in 9" barrel that doesn't love this stuff. The gas guns have all performed flawlessly with the load.In over 1,500rounds of the Rem UMC 50grn fired in the last 18months, we have not had a single Fail to Fire, and neither of my gas-guns have had a Failure to Eject, or Failure to Feed yet.As expected, performance on small game like rabbits or Prairie Dogs is pretty dramatic. These JHP's really do a number on the smaller stuff. I've also dropped several coyotes with them without arguement. Under 200yrds, I take head shots, which is pretty dramatic for damage if you're wanting a hide to mount, but vitals shots on coyotes drops them hard and offers pretty low pelt damage.Great product, especially for the money. This is the kind of accuracy and reliability I'd expect from PREMIUM ammo, but without the premium pricetag!
