Comments about Remington Thunderbolt Rimfire Ammo, .22LR, 40 Gr.:

I shoot this ammo through a mark 3 and ruger 10/22. It is not my preferred ammo of choice but works well for this ammo shortage we are having. Any ammo is good ammo right now.

Comments about Remington Thunderbolt Rimfire Ammo, .22LR, 40 Gr.:

I picked up a few boxes of Thunderbolt and finally got the chance to shoot it over the long weekend in both a 39a and a Browning SA-22. My observations:

              The Good
              - No duds. No jams.
              - I didn't shoot on paper, but accuracy was good enough for plinking on tin-cans.

              The Bad
              - Its dirty. A lot more carbon soot than other brands. But, the barrel does not look "leaded" out.

              The Ugly
              - Inconsistent powder load. Seems like I had two or three rounds per box that sounded "weak". Most rounds had a nice supersonic crack, but the exceptions sounded like a fizzle/pop. No squibs.

              Verdict.
              - If I had no other options, I'd buy again. The non-waxed round nose lead bullets gave me no feeding issues (vs something like the 36 grain Winchester Value rounds pack that seem to stick a bit). The Remington's low power rounds made me a bit nervous, so I'd save these for plinking against a dirt back stop .... the visible impact cue would give me the peace of mind that the bullet was out of the barrel.
