Comments about Remington® Premier® AccuTip Bonded Sabot Slug, 12-ga., 2-3/4", 385-gr:
Used a Beretta ES-100 S/A 12GA, rifled slug barrel, Nikon Slughunter 1.65 x 5 on my Michigan U.P. bearhunt. Lots of (expensive!) prep shooting to see what my gun seemed to digest best. These, the Lightfields, and the larger / slower / heavier Sabots seemed great in my gun - figure 8's at 100 yards. The lighter / faster Hornady SST's just wouldn't group well for the gun. bummer.
I opted for these because I wanted penetration. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!! At 42 yards, it broke the left shoulder, transited the torso and broke the right shoulder. He dropped right there. D.R.T. :) I placed a second round though the heart-lungs. When quartering the animal out, I recovered the 385 gr. round between the right shoulder and hide, greatly expanded, and later put it on a 505 scale to find it weighed 273 gr., a loss of only 12 grains after destroying both shoulders! Perfect. The second round was a clean pass though.
Great round, perfect results.

Comments about Remington® Premier® AccuTip Bonded Sabot Slug, 12-ga., 2-3/4", 385-gr:
ACCU-BOND 3" ARE THE MOST ACCURATE SLUG OUT THERE FOR MY GUN . I SHOOT A BROWNING GOLD HUNTER WITH RIFLED BARREL. STRONG 2ND IS REMINGTON COPPER SOLID. THE ACUU-BOND IS TOUGH ON DEER. I HAVE TRYED MANY SLUGS IN MY GUN, BUT ACCU-BOND IS BEST

So far i've only used these to sight in my remington 870. unfortunately it's a little too accurate which has made it very hard to sight in my new reddot. Hoping to use these this season to take down a deer or two.

Comments about Remington® Premier® AccuTip Bonded Sabot Slug, 12-ga., 2-3/4", 385-gr:
always willing to try what's new, as usal lots of hyp, claim 2 3/4" groups at 100yds...lol how about 10'' groups more like it. shot out of a 1187 with 24" hastings rifled barrel, top of with 3-9 nikon omega bdc shotgun scope,3 pound allen timney trigger, cadwell lead sled rest. Did hit the black twice, lots off flyers which i find with remington slugs of all types, won't spend the money unless shot out of a tarhunt slug gun or encore slug barrel. thank NY for allowing rifles.

Q:
Do I need a rifled barrel to shoot these.Asked on 11/6/2009 by Anonymous2 answers

according to remington's website you do.Answered on 11/20/2009 by Newbie from Canton, OhVERIFIED BUYER
A:
no you can use a smooth bore barrel, as long as you have a rifled choke tube. i've used both a fully rifled barrel and a smooth bore rifled choke with these rounds and found that the rifled barrel gives better accuracy at longer ranges, but with the right sights/optics the smooth bore can do just as well. Sabot slugs need some kind of rifling to make them accurate at range, without rifling they'll end up dropping a lot sooner and won't be accurate or as effective.Answered on 11/17/2009 by blaze from mt. airy, md
