            Click this safety off and your game is gone. The safety is very stiff and makes a rather loud click when you change between Safe and Fire (and vice versa).

            That said, it's a straight-shooter with an adequate scope. What more could you ask?

              Gun itself is great. Scope was mounted crooked. Fixed it myself. When it came time to sight it in the elevation adjustment cover was so tight that the whole assembly came out with it. Took it back to gander and got a brand new bushnell scope with more power. So I reccommend buying the gun and puting a nice scope on. Save yourself the hassle

              I got this gun as a gift from my GF and I am shooting 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. Had this gun sighted in at 50 yards in 5 shots, 3 more shots had it sighte din at 100 yards, never had any problem with it at all. Shoot the hornady sst 300 grain sabot slug, for a shotgun it cant get any more accurate, just a bit of a kick but then again using a 300 grain slub doesnt help. Shot 2 deer this year both 100+ yards with straight through and through shot with the Hornady SST didnt run more than 15 yards.

                fell in love with the feel of the gun. wouldnt sight in, returned it to gander mtn store. gunsmith said it was the rings not the scope. replaced rings (for 75 $) after 30 + shots i got her sighted in. I also put a limbsaver recoil pad on the "old mule" it settled down her kick pretty good. [...]

                Service and delivery comments:

                i found it hard to believe that you can buy for over 500$, and the gun wouldn't dial in to 3" of center at 35 yds. and have to spend another 75$ to get it where it should have been when you bought it. it just may have been the peoria manager. oh well there are plenty of other businesses around that are more concerned with customer service.

                          870s have interchangable barrels. i have 2 one is a super magnum (3 1/2") chamber, and this one (3") chamber. the smooth (aka turkey)barrel is usually less expensive than the canteliver rifled that comes with this setup. just get the smooth barrel and a super full choke tube and your ready .

                          It is removeable, the scope is attached to the barrel also so you dont have to constantly sight your gun in all over when you switch the barrel back to the slug barrel.

                          Absolutely...2 inch groups at 100 yards is no problem!!! It uses 3 inch shells.

                          shotguns differ alot in range for me i use a 20 gauge mossberg and i can make very good shots up to 300 yards with it so it would depend on the hunter and the scope

                          I am 99% sure that they don't make a left handed model for this gun. i am left handed and when I bought mine i could not find one. I just had a left handed safety installed, that is the only mod I could make for this gun. It has a poweful ejection so the shells won't hit your arm.
