Beneath no-nonsense, ready-for-work exterior of the Model 870 Express lies the same quality, precision, and dependability that you'll find in Remington's legendary Model 870 Wingmaster, but at a much more affordable price. Like all Model 870 shotguns, this workhorse features a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength and reliability. The silky-smooth twin action bars prevent binding and twisting so that you'll always have the chance to get off a second shot. Appropriately dressed for the hunt and not for the wall, each shotgun sports non-reflective black matte metalwork and either a wood stock and fore-end or black synthetic stock and fore-end. Both the 12- and 20-gauge models are offered with your choice of a 26- or 28-inch vent-rib barrel with a Modified Rem Choke and single bead sight.

    I picked up my 870 Express in the early 90's and it has been my "Bread 'n Butter" ever since. While the Wingmaster series are absolutely beautiful, there is just something about the Express line that makes it number one in my heart.
    With the 28" barrel and a great selection of chokes I am able to hit the field for some clay bustin' or bird hunting, getting ducks, or hitting the woodline to give Ole Tom a very bad day. I have on a few occasions also hit the woods with my 870 during deer season but I admit that I prefer a rifle for that task.
    I also have my 18" barrel that serves for my 3 gun setup and whatever else I need my shotgun to do.
    I have been so happy with mine that I bought Lil' Leeroy an exact duplicate except left handed ejection and my daughter one of the Gander Mountain Exclusive 870 Express Youth 20's with the 18" barrel.
    In a world of so many choices and options it is easy to overlook the "Plain-Jane" 870 Express but you will do yourself a disservice if you do.

    I ordered this product online, I had to pick it up at the store. The service was horrible!!, Not enough people I waited for almost 2 hrs. I spoke with other customers who had waited even longer. Not even seats to sit in and wait. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a store.Very stressfull. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING AT GANDER MTN EVER AGAIN.

      this is by far the best gun i have used, and workd absolutly perfect! I have hunted deer, squirrl, rabbit, coons, pheasant, and all other legal game...an amazing gun!!! it has the lightest recoil i have had with a 12GA,even with the factory recoil pad! love it!

        have had mine since Christmas 2011 the gun is 9 years old the only problem is when rabbits run i tend to be able to empty the gun quicker than i can aim but the only real downfall is the weight 7 1/2 pounds and a full day of pheasant or rabbit hunting wears you out

          Easy to assemble, nice gun for multiple uses(rabbit, squirrel, trap shooting, or deer hunting).

          Some wear from the front side of the forestock action leaving marks onto the barrel from pumping the action to reload the chamber.
