if you look at the internet this rifle gets mixed reviews (about 50/50 good/bad). I can tell you this... out of the box the bolt feels like it has been coated with gravel and it is loose at the end of travel. After a good cleaning (you SHOULD clean any new gun you buy before firing), the action becomes pretty smooth. The more I fired it and worked the bolt back and forth, the smoother it got (amazing isn't it??).
I bought mine in a .308 and the first shot at 100 yards was 2" above dead center. After adjustment, dead nuts. Fired the remainder of the box through the rifle and performed flawlessly (1.5" grouping)
Be it known, this is not a 900 dollar browning or tikka. you probably won't be able to knock a cigarette butt off a fence post at 500 yards with it, but it does function as a great bush rifle.
Here in Tennessee I hunt a majority of the time in bush country (favorite bush gun is a marlin 30/30). I simply don't have the need for 1000 yard accuracy. If you are looking for a no frills hunter, then this is a very good value for your money. It will knock down a deer just like a 1000 dollar Browning rig will. If you're looking for a sniper rifle, look at a Barret. but for casual hunting at intermediate ranges,,, A+.
I like this rifle so well, I'm thinking of getting one in .243 for my 9 year old.

I may be the only person that purchased the bad apple. Purchased the firearm mainly due to its price. My 1st trip to the range I fired the 1st shot, the empty case would not eject (using factory Remington ammo). I fired several more shots and none of the cases would eject however, the gun did group well @ 100 yards. I removed the bolt and noticed that the bolt face was cracked. I took the firearm to a gunsmith and he told me to return the gun to Remington for repair. I returned the gun and remington replaced the bolt for free under warrenty. I sold the gun after repair (I did notify the purchaser of the defect)and purchased a model 700 with a scope at [...] for only $50.00 more than I paid for the model 770. I didnt like the weight, feel and design of the model 770 anyway!!

Comments about Remington® Model 770 Stainless Camo Centerfire Rifle Package:
I read alot of bad reviews online after I purchased this gun. I was kind of having buyers remorse after I read em, BUT I must say after a good cleaning I headed out to the range and was holding 1 1/2 to 2 inch groups at 100yrds with cor lokt 130 grain. Ive had this gun for 2 seasons now and wouldnt hesitate to buy another one. The sope isnt the best but hey its included. I just put a Redfield revenge 3x9x40 on this season and love it. Took it out to the range today and was holding 1 to 1 1/2 groups at 100yrds. It is a lil heavy. The bolt was sticky when I first got it home but I gave it a good cleaning and sanded the bolt with 400 grit then 600 grit then 1000 grit sandpaper, oiled it up real good and its fine now. All and all decent gun for the money

Comments about Remington® Model 770 Stainless Camo Centerfire Rifle Package:
I bought this rifle 2 years ago and have been pleased with it. The bolt does not feel as precise as my model 700 but still functions well. Accuracy is good and I am glad it came with a scope. The only thing I wished it would have is a 24 inch barrel. Good value priced rifle!

Comments about Remington® Model 770 Stainless Camo Centerfire Rifle Package:
The rifle is very nice shoots well didn't think I would like the synthetic stock but it has grown on me the only thing I can say bad is that when I bought it they were suppose to have bore sighted it but unfortunatly gander mountain failed at that and it was so bad I had to start out at 25 yards and work
my out to 200 yards when I got it sighted in it worked perfectly. Gander Mountain not so much they get two thumbs down.

Comments about Remington® Model 770 Stainless Camo Centerfire Rifle Package:
This is an excellent weapon. I took it to the shooting range and hit dead center at 200 yards. It took some minor adjusting on the scope dials like a click up and 2 clicks to the left to hit dead center but it shot like a dream. I don't see spending over a $1000 for a fancy weapon when this one is a name brand and is just as good! Excellent for a beginner!
