i hunt several times a year on our 350 acres. when i first bought this gun i saw the scope on it and i said "now I've gotta sight it it" i got the bench the paper targets the ammo.i took five shots and wow! they were no more than three and a half inches from the bulls-eye! I WOULD 100% RECOMMEND THIS GUN.first buck i got with this gun was at about 160 yards and fell to the ground.

this gun has had to been shipped back to remington because it ws a piece of junk and the bolt came completely out of it when it is locked in place. the bullets do not feed properly at all, better to just buy the model 700, its accurate but was difficult to sight with the scope it came with, uprgadin the scope is worth it, it has good knockdown power

Comments about Remington® Model 770™ Sporter Centerfire Rifle:
The bolt sticks when you first begin using it but loosens up with use. Price was cheap and so is the construction, but good for the price. Easy to sight in and seems to be accurate.

Comments about Remington® Model 770™ Sporter Centerfire Rifle:
Can't believe what I got for the money! I bought the Model 770 in 30-06 as a last-minute gift for my son, and helped him fine tune the sight. It already came bore sighted. My son is totally thrilled! It wasn't in stock at our Gander Mtn store, but was shipped from another Gander Mtn store and picked up by me in a couple of days!

Comments about Remington® Model 770™ Sporter Centerfire Rifle:
Got it for [$] keep that in mind. Its not the model 700,the bolt is not as smooth, and the bore sight was off. But, for only using the rifle a few weeks out of the year for hunting season it works great. Good rifle for those on a budget. oh. i got it in the 30-06.

Comments about Remington® Model 770™ Sporter Centerfire Rifle:
I just started hunting white tail last year and was borrowing my uncles gun. I enjoyed it, so I decided to invest in my first gun. I didn't want to spend to much but I still wanted good quality and i found it in this gun which I got ib 30-06. I read some reviews that were not to great for this gun but i decided to get it anyway.
Sighting it in at 100 yds i shot a group of 4 that were actually touching each other within the same box. To say the least I am very happy with the performance of the gun.
The only problem i found with the gun is that the bolt is a little sticky and not as smooth as some of the other guns I had handled. But I greased it up and it is much smoother now.
I would definitely recommend this gun to any begginer hunter looking for a quality gun at a very affordable price.

Q:
how much more kick does this rifle have than a pump 12 gaugeAsked on 2/16/2010 by BW from huntersville, NC1 answer
A:
I have the same rifle, and im 14. from experience shooting both 12 gauges and this rifle, the rifle may have a little less of a kick than a 12 gauge. I can shoot 40+ rounds at the range and my shoulder is just getting sore. its a perfect rifle.Answered on 6/12/2010 by jeff from Texas

NONE,THE 30-06 COMES IN 220GR,165GR,180 GR,COVERS ABOUT ALL BIG GAME ON N/AMERICAN CONTAnswered on 2/10/2010 by PECOSBILL1941 from EVERETT WAA:
You can only shoot 30-06 ammo, but it comes in a variety of bullets which makes this caliber one of the most versatile for the one gun hunter. You can get a 55gr sabot, a 110 gr, 150, 165, and 180. In other words, with one rifle and a mix of cartridges you can shoot anything from varmints to black bear.Answered on 2/9/2010 by John from Georgia
