Q:I know nothing about guns but want to buy my son one for his birthday. The primary purpose would be deer hunting, would this gun be sufficient for that? Thanks! Also, can I buy the gun and have him get the license later so it doesn't spoil the surprise?Asked on 3/13/2010 by Anonymous
A:to buy a gun all you need really is your drivers license and that you have a decent record when they do a security check on you when purchasing. A 270 is a really great caliber for deer and about all you need, but if you go any bigger in animalls my opinion is to go for the 7mm Rem. Mag. (just to be safe but hey its your call) and i dont really know what your talking about a "license" if its for hunting then the answer is an easy yes. you dont need a license to have a weapon, only to conceal one (CHL)Answered on 4/11/2010 by a dood in texas from Houston, TX
