Comments about Remington® Model 750™ Woodsmaster™ Centerfire Rifle:

Bought a Model 750 in .270 Win and Nikon Monarch scope to hunt in West Virginia with my Uncle. The rifle looks great, feels great to hold and shoot but won't cycle reliably. I put 60 rounds through it and it jammed between 15 and 20 times. The action seemed to catch when the bolt cocked the hammer. Sometimes it wouldn't work the action back far enough to eject the empty cartridge and sometimes it would eject but not get quite far enough back to catch the next cartridge from the magazine. I tried a box of Remington Core-Lokt and two boxes of Hornady Superformance ammunition to see if it made any difference. I tried two different clips also with no success. We tried Rem Oil first and then we heard the lube that Remington sends in it from the factory gums up bad so we took it apart and cleaned it all out and used some Remington Dri-Lube and didn't seem to make any difference. Very dissappointed with it. My uncle has a Model 7400 and a Model 742 and not had many problems at all with them. The Model 750 is a downgrade from the older models. Remington is making them cheaper. Mine might just be a lemon but right now I'm kicking myself for not buying a Browning BAR. It's in the process of being sent to Remington so we will see whether they can make it shoot or not. As for the rest the rest of the rifle, the trigger is about what you'd expect for a semi. Creepy and heavier than you'd like but thats to be expected. It shot very well but had to check the action every shot. The walnut stock looks real nice and feels great too. If only it would cycle.
