The Model 700 offers the unrivaled out-of-the-box accuracy and high-end performance you've come to expect from America's most popular bolt-action centerfire rifle. The Model 700 SPS features an improved, ergonomically designed synthetic stock for better handling and enhanced overall functionality. The carbon steel barrels are clean without sights and receivers are drilled and tapped for scope mounts. All exterior metalwork features a matte blued finish. Standard amenities also include the revolutionary recoil reducing SuperCell recoil pad, a hinged floor plate magazine, and swivel studs.

  The .300 RUM has more energy and is a lot faster. Depending on the game, you can get different power level ammo for the Ultra Mag. Power level One will give you 30-06 like trajectory for deer, Power Level Two simulates .300 Win Mag and Power Level Three is for really big game or ultra long distances. I would choose the .300 RUM but they will burn up barrels with hot loads.

  300WSM Can be loaded to about 3100 fps with a 168 grain bullet and the 300RUM can be loaded to about3300 fps with a 168 grain bullet. From Nosler reloading guide about the 300RUM "Our technicians were surprised to find near bench-rest accuracy when medium weight bullets were teamed with IMR4350 and Federal 215 primer.
