Product Description
remington The Model 597 is easily the most advanced autoloading rimfire rifle ever built, and the most technologically advanced breakthrough in autoloading rimfire rifle technology in 35 years. The difference starts with Remington's proprietary bolt-guidance system, which features a unique set of twin tool-steel guide rails for better stability, feeding reliability and greater out-of-the-box accuracy. The bolt, hammer and sear of the Model 597 all feature an exclusive nickel-Teflon plating for smooth, dependable operation and an ultra-crisp trigger pull. To assure reliable, long-term accuracy, the 597 incorporates a unique positive-locking, permanently rigid barrel attachment clamp. Receivers are grooved for standard rimfire mounts and tapped/drilled for Weaver-style bases. Completing the breakthrough design are an innovative last-shot "hold open" magazine feature and Remington's patented, easy-to-use staggered-stack magazine. This variant features blued 20-inch barrel and a Mossy Oak Pink camo stock.

      Comments about Remington Model 597 Rimfire Rifle:

      Bought this gun in .22mag to use on coyotes. I had to install a trigger lightening kit as the original was about 15 pounds. That really tightened the groups. The only other complaint is very poorly designed clip magazines. Not enough power to the spring which causes feeding problems & sometimes trouble filling the clips. Other than that, I love it!

      This gun is not for serious target or long distance shooting. At 45 steps, 3 inch square targets (3) and 29 shots after scope sighted in, I hit only 4 inside the squares. I am 62, good health, prescription glasses and 20/20 vision. I was disappointed. I do not expect any better shooting after break-in is over.
