I have 2 of these magazines, and both of them have cycled reliably through many full loads. They are made of plastic (minus the spring), and I would've liked something a little more substantial due to normal use & wear. Overall, I would say that purchasing these for [$] is a little on the pricey side for what you get, but these are indispensable at the range / in the field for keeping moving and not having to stop and load too often.

The good news is that the product is 33% cheaper online than in store. The store price is $29.99, online is [$]. That's the only positive. I bought six for my Remington 597 thinking that THEIR product for THEIR rile MUST work WELL. WRONG, VERY WRONG. I competitively shoot weekly EVERYONE that bought this magazine has problems with it. It doesn't hold 30 rounds, 28 at best, and every other round jams. I can list more problems but it's not worth it. At our local NRA meeting, friends also complained. Regarding which .22 ammo used. Save your money. Shame on Remington for allowing a sub-par product to carry their great brand name. Remington should either recall them or replace them to their loyal customers.

Comments about Remington Model 597 22LR Magazine:
Have not had a chance to use the mag yet. It loads easier than other brands. The price is the best out there. I shopped 10 different online and local sites. Gander did not beat the initial price but after free shipping, nobody beat their final price. Hope to test it this weekend.

Honestly I doubted the bad reviews and the first time I used it it worked flawlessly, but the second and third time it jammed nearly every other shot. Good Bye plastic clip!

Comments about Remington Model 597 22LR Magazine:
Bought two of these when they came out. I have fired thousands of rounds out of my 597 with these and one mag finally split at the top. Items could be more durable, but I really loved my purchase (buying two more right now to replace the worn one). I did not have any issues like all the above people - very happy with mine....

Comments about Remington Model 597 22LR Magazine:
Remington should be ashamed! I've been a very loyal consumer. Bought two rifles this year alone. Thought the Remington produced mag would work in my new 597 VTR.... wrong, wrong, wrong.
I agree with a previous post... they should do more quality control and replace the hunks of junk. Had very little problems with mt 10\22 hi-cap mag. This thing has failed to feed more than three rounds before sticking!! And after 15 rounds loading it gets pretty tough. Don't waste your money. Remington has failed here big time!

Comments about Remington Model 597 22LR Magazine:
I got excited when I first saw this and bought it about a year ago. Had nothing but problems since then. Still hard to load, which I could get over IF it actually functioned while shooting. Literally every 2nd round refuses to load. The 10 round magazines function flawlessly. I've tried Golden Bullets, Federal Champion, Yellow Jackets, CCI Mini-Mags, and CCI Stingers. NONE of them function in the 30 rounder! Exact same problems - simply does not feed well at all. Remington, didn't you test these before putting them on store shelves? Very VERY disappointing product. I love my 597 with 10 round mags. Don't waste your money this 30 rounder. Get a few more 10 rounders.

Comments about Remington Model 597 22LR Magazine:
I love this high capacity magazine! I will admit that it was a little hard to load to the full 30 at first but i only shoot every 1-2 weeks and i stored it with the full 30 in it to loosen the spring and it worked, it is a lot better to load now. My only other complaint is that it goes throught ammo so quick but that is what i bought it for.... great product!!
