Comments about Remington Magazine 19655:
I purchased the Remington Model 581 10 shot clip to supplement the 45 year old original 5 shot clip that game with the .22. While the new clip holds 10 rounds, it does not load them properly. There is way too much tension in the spring when all 10 rounds are loaded. Subsequently, the top rounds are forced out of the top of the magazine with too much force and do not line up with the chamber. The top rounds have even flown out of the magazine when it is placed on the shooting stand! It is OK if you load just 5 rounds into the clip, but more than that is problematic. I have retired the 10 shot clip after just a few tries using it. Recently I loked in my ammo case and found that the clip had self destructed - the spring and top of the clip had come apart. Do not recommend. I would rather have two of the old, original 5 shot clips.

Comments about Remington Magazine 19655:
This product is made of weak plastic and in my opinion is dangerous. After putting about 50 or so rounds through it as I used the bolt action to load the next round all the bullets spurted from the magazine with the full force of the spring. I took the magazine out to look at it and the magazine spring shot out of the clip into my face. I could have lost an eye, I will not buy a remington product again after this incident.

Q:
The description references "magnesium construction" and "polymer finish". Is the magazine body made from metal or plastic/polymer?Asked on 5/3/2009 by Anonymous from Greenville SC2 answers

A:
The magazine is metal made from magnesium alloy.Answered on 5/7/2009 by Matt from Gander TechA:
*** The item is of magnesium alloy construction. The polymer finish does give it a plastic look an feel. The closest comparison would be that of an AR 15 magazine.***Answered on 5/11/2009 by Matt from Gander Tech
