        I purchased a back-up for my Remington 700 (.270 cal). Sometime during the second gun season, I lost my clip in a snow covered farm field. The following season, the farmer returned my clip to me. He claimed he found it plowing in the Spring. To my surprise, there was only two small rust spots on the blued steel. I got two more hunting seasons out of it before it failed. I am still using the original that is ten years old.
