I highly recommend this barrell for deer hunters, but I imagine it would be great for hogs as well. I was amazed at the accurracy right out of the box with no adjustments.

I live in an area where the state does not allow the use of center-fire rifles for hunting deer. This barrel turned my 12 gauge slug gun into a .50 caliber rifle allowing me to use ammunition with better ballistic characteristics and a longer effective range. My 870 was manufactured in 1995, this barrel fits tightly into the receiver.

Good solid product typical of Remington. I purchased the fully rifled barrel. Shot perfect out of the box. Good sights. Use Remington Premier copper solid hollow point sabot slugs, and you will not be disappointed. Only drawback is [$] price. Should be cheaper when considering the price of combo. Already owned the 870 with 26" VR small game barrel, so opted to purchase only the barrel.
