        Exactly what I wanted in a turkey gun. I've had several Remington 870s and am very familiar with the operation of the gun. I very much like the pistol grip and the fact that a turkey choke is included. I did invest in HiViz sights. The ribbed barrel is not high enough for me to aim the gun using the stock bead without taking the gun off my shoulder. The HiViz sights for the front and back mounted easily and are absolutely perfect. I can't wait for turkey season!

          the super mag is a great gun, but before you really start shooting 3.5" shells through it, break it in with a box of 3" to break in the action and magazine shell stoppers. the reason i say this is because i had a few 3.5" shells jam on me, i took it out back and shot a few 3" in it then cleaned all the terrible factory oil out and replaced it with hoppes and have had no problem or jam with 3.5" shells since. pistol grip makes holding the gun for long periods of time easier and more comfortable

          I have nothing but good things to say about the 870. From the very first shot, the weapon functioned perfectly. I used it today for sporting clays and I had a great time. I have shot 870s on the firing range for probably thirty years, and have never had one malfunction, despite the fact that they were the same shotguns, used over and over in many cases.

          Another reason I picked the 870 was because of the vast amount of accessories and ease of getting replacement parts. In my opinion, it is probably the most versatile gun out there.
