Comments about Remington 700 SPS Varmint Centerfire Rifle Package:
I bought this gun package knowing that a lot would eventually be changed on it (new stock, scope, rings, 20MOA base, bipod, etc.). I chose to start with a package though so while I save up for upgrades I can still shoot it. So far I've only put about 20 rounds (.308) through it but it's definitely accurate. I hit a 1"x2" piece of plastic at 100 yards in 1 shot without problem, and that's with the cheap scope on top not even fully dialed in. The kick is near minimal with the heavy barrel too....I'd say less that a 12ga if I had to make a comparison.
Lastly, I put on the cons as "heavy". To me it's not really a con, but I figure some people would think that. I like the weight and added accuracy and stability from the heavy barrel, but if you're hunting and trecking through woods or doing a lot of offhand shooting, the heavy front end may get tiring for you. It's not bad, but you definately feel it on you front hand.
Great gun though and fantasticly fun to shoot. I see some good, accurate, long distance shots coming out of it.

Comments about Remington 700 SPS Varmint Centerfire Rifle Package:
So far I have only had the chance to use my new 700 for target practice and love the accuracy of it. It's a good solid rifle.

Comments about Remington 700 SPS Varmint Centerfire Rifle Package:
I bought this product at a great price and the included scope is a great bonus. The rifle feels solid and operates very smoothly. Unfortulately, Gander Mountain has not had any .308 ammo in stock for the past 3 weeks, so I have yet to test fire the rifle at the range. I look forward to trying it out one day.

Comments about Remington 700 SPS Varmint Centerfire Rifle Package:
Great gun at a good price, but don't think your getting a deal because of the glass. The one that came on my gun would not hold a zero.

Comments about Remington 700 SPS Varmint Centerfire Rifle Package:
Excellent grouping over 100 yards straight out of the box. Its a bit heavier than i thought but i can get over that. Trying to load the magazine at 28 degrees with cold fingers was not easy, thats the only problem, but will probably get a clip for it anyway. Otherwise, a superb rifle!
