I know that I rated it as durable and poor construction, but this is why. I had the 8 1/2" Rapala fishing pliers. These were the best pliers ever. The general make up is the same. I use this to say the pliers are durable. However, when I really squeeze the handle to grasp the hook, the handle has a little bit of give to it.
