throw it out close to shore by the rocks or in the lilly pads when the water is calm, twitch twitch twitch rest-- twitch twitch twitch rest-- twitch-bam! one more smallmouth under the belt.
i love this lure cause in the 05 size its perfect for smallmouth that have a hard time attacking larger topwater lures. to me, there is nothing more exciting than watching a big fish come out of the water to take your lure. this lure is just too easy to use and the fish go nuts for it, especially once you get it down and you can get it to make its little pop noise every time you twitch it. the frog patterns are definitely the best, but i've had luck with shad and gold.
the only thing i didn't like about it was when a northern unexpectedly hit my topwater lure, it got marred up on the back a little bit, the paint came off and showed the white. i guess it was okay because i caught a fish within the next three casts but it just bothered me a little that a fish chewed the paint off my lure.
bottome line: THIS LURE NEEDS TO BE IN THE ARSENAL OF ANY BASS FISHERMAN FROM BEGINNER TO PRO.

My brother who is a bass angler borrowed me his skitter pop because im new to fishing with fake baits, and its awesome. ive tried other baits before and have had no luck. thats why i stuck to live bait.. but my very first day with the skitter pop, and i caught largemouth, smallmouth and even decent sized northern pike. i recommend this bait to anyone who is iffy about top water baits. im sadden that i got it tangled into a tree, but as soon as gander opens, im gonna get me one of each color.

Only 2" but very effective. I wouldn't want to go for large mouth with it, but smaller fish would be perfect.

i found a rapala video on the use of this lure and since then i just love to use it. if used correctly the fish will explode out of the water and inhale this lure. its quite the show and an amazing rush. its best used in still water and near fallen brush, lillies, cattails, etc.... learn to use this properly and it will be a blast.
