This is a great Rapala bait in the crawfish pattern to use when the bass are keying on Craws, it suspends nicely over rocks and red bill and bleeding pattern draw vicious strikes coming through flooded timber. It is a balsa Shad Rap, but casts nicely, even in windy conditions. Use spring or fall with its great profile.

After trying the rest move over to the best.this lure works period. If you troll for walleyes or saugeyes in shallow to medium depth lakes this is the lure for you.Nothing fancy required as for skill.let out the line & start trolling ,if the eyes are there they will soon be in your boat.Don't take my word for it,buy just one, you'll be back for me I'm sure

Best Uses
Great plug, trolls with wobble that attracts saugeye from a distance.I use the shad exclusively when trolling and the shad rap beats the competitors plugs bar done.I use the plug at a speed determined by the saugeye, anywhere from 1 to 5 mph using my GPS for speed control.I let out anywhere from 20 to 30 yards of line and hold on for the strike! Many times it will come on a wide turn but can come at anytime. The fire tiger & bleeding red colors are the ticket for my area, central ohio.If I can't catch a saugeye on a shad rap they can't be caught period!

Q:
How much line let out and how much weight must be attached ahead of the lure to get it to run at 10' deep when when trolling against a 4 knot river current?Asked on 4/15/2010 by Norm from Michigan1 answer

A:
I don't think you will need a weight. It depends on size of line. I troll it 60 to 70 yards behind the boat with 8 lb, line on a lake and it gets to 9 to 10 ft.Answered on 8/10/2010 by Doc from Murfreesboro, Ar.
