Comments about Rapala Heavy Duty Electric Fillet Knife, 7.5" Blade:

Haven't filleted a fish with it yet but was impressed with this knife's power and speed when compared to older Rapala deluxe model. Also very much like the new trigger design and sensitivity. The handle/motor is a bit bigger than the deluxe model but does seem well balanced and comfortable and the weight did not seem to be an issue on the brief comparison. Now looking forward to cleaning my next batch of fish even more than I usually do!

Comments about Rapala Heavy Duty Electric Fillet Knife, 7.5" Blade:

I had been using a previous model of the Rapala fillet knife for several years and loved it. It had a great feel in the hand and filleted several thousand Gills without a problem. I finally wore out the internal gear I believe and it would no longer reciprocate. I definitely got my money out of that model. I chose a Rapala again based on this previous experience. Bad decision. Right out of the box I could see their quality had slipped over the past model I had purchased. The cord was made out of a low quality plastic and the trigger switch just didn't feel right. I was able to get through a couple of hours of filleting my big Tennessee Gills when the trigger switch starting acting up. It worked on and off for another hour then quit all together. For the couple of hours it did work, it filleted well as advertised. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this model due to the poor quality of this product. I was able to finish up my trip using a 10 year old backup knife. As they say..........they just don't make 'em like they used to.
