I have had my Rapala for awhile and love it and have bought a couple for presents as well. I have used it on everything from Walleye to Blue Gills and it works great. Maybe a bit much for smaller pan fish, but great for larger fish. Also is very handy for carving turkey,ham, or roasts.
You won't regret adding this to your knife drawer.

it would probably be a good knife only if the freaking blades would have clicked into the knife. this is the second time i have bought a rapala fillet knife and the funny thing is that neither of them worked. i will never buy another rapala knife or anything that has the name rapala on it. if i were rapala i would recall all my knives because they worthless.         I have used many electric knives in the past in my fishing guide business on Lake Mead. We clean over 2,000 fish annually and this is without a doubt my main electric filet knife.             Funny thing is my Dad(89 yrs old)only put one blade in and tried to clean a walleye. I heard him say a few choice words then I saw what had happened and inserted the second blade for him. He was embaressed with what he had done and then proceded to clean that walleye. He likes the knife alot. He had always used an electric kitchen knife.

            This knife does not have enough power while filleting average fish like crappie. I could not imagine it doing a very good job on larger fish like catfish, walleye, pike, or bass. The long cord is good.

                  Beats a regular fillet knife in speed until it cuts off. Seems like there is some kind of a safety switch that prevents the motor from over heating. You can only fillet soo many fish until it cuts off and your are back to a regular fillet knife. Takes a few minutes to cool down little, then you are back at it until it cuts out again. Not bad if you don't have to fillet alot of fish.
