I am a female and bought these mens boots to go hunting deep in the woods for 4 days straight all day, through creeks, mud, hard to climb hills etc., these boots kept my feet completely warm and dry and I didnt get blisters or soreness even though they were brand new and I wore them all day. I was able to handle the heaviness of them and I am small framed. My male friend had a pair that lasted him for 12 years before the sole finally came off and he hunts all the time. The tread on the bottom helped me to climb the tough hills as well! Great great boots, worth the price.

This was my first pair of Rocky Boots. I loved them for the three years I hunted in them. I received them for Christmas four years ago so I was able to hunt three years in them. This year the band the ran around the outside of the heel, and the entire heel cap fell off during a hunt. Can't be repaired, can't be returned. Can't afford to buy a pair of boots that doesn't last for more than three seasons...especially high priced boots. Thanks, but no thanks.

These boots last a lifetime. I got these same boots in 2002 and they just got old and I wanted new ones. They are great boots for four season hunting. Very warm. Amazing traction.

Rocky does stand behind their Boots

Comments about ROCKY Bearclaw 3D 1,000-Gram Thinsulate Ultra 8" GTX Hunting Boots:

Have a pair of 10 yr old Rocky boots with that old Bear Claw soft sole that are cracking with chunks falling out especially at the toe. While getting them resoled the cobbler said he had seen problems with those soles suggested that I contact Rocky about any warranty. After 10 years I didn't expect anything but I called anyway. I explained the problem and what the cobbler had said and that I had 3 other pairs of Rocky boots or shoes. They said to send them the tags from inside the tongues and they would give me 60% off the cost of any new pair I wanted. So for $80 plus tax and free shipping I got $200 bear Claw GTX 1400g within a week. These soles look better/harder but I do think Red Wing/Irish Setter in the same price range look better. But for that kind of service by Rocky I am very happy.

Comments about ROCKY Bearclaw 3D 1,000-Gram Thinsulate Ultra 8" GTX Hunting Boots:

I bought a pair of Bearclaws in 2003. I've always bought Rocky boots. A tradition pasted down from my father. I would usually buy what I could afford and would wear out the cheapest rocky boots in about 2-3 years. I went a bit out of my price range for these and I am so happy I did. These boots are still going strong at 9 years. I gortex them twice a year and sometimes use bear lard and it makes them basically waterproof. Our family hunts hard, throught swamps (I've been soaked to my waist and had dry feet), scrub brush, mountains, and creeks. In rain and snow. I wear these boots always. We farm and butcher our own meet. I always have these boots on. I still have the same laces too. I wear pants over them so that may help. I will buy these again and recommend them to anyone.

Very comfortable boots with good uppers, except they fade quickly. I use them for deer hunting and ice fishing and are warm, but only using them a few months out of the year the soles are totally falling apart.

I use these boots for hunting. I've hunted in the fall were it wasn't so cold and in the winter, and they were perfect for both. They're really warm and I haven't had a problem with them leaking. The only thing that isn't the best is that their a little on the heavy side, but other then that their great boots.
