First off, anyone who says these boots aren't durable are full of it and not using the boot for what it was intended. Probably the same guy driving around town pulling a 26 footer with a 86 Escort. Not smart or realistic. These boots are very rugged. I've owned the same pair for nearly two years and hiked hundreds of miles in them. The only complaints I have are in regards to the weight and breathability. Those of you who hike or do a lot of walking on trails, this may not be the best option. In addition to hiking I also hunt and these boots are more suited to blazing (bushwhacking)your own trail rather than following one. For flat out walking there is definately a more efficient option out there. My other complaint is that the boots don't breath well. I've used all types of socks and liners and still end up with damp feet at the end of a long day and occassionally blisters. The only solution I've come up with is changing socks and liners half way through. Boots are very waterproof. Combined with my Columbia waterproof pants w/internal gaiters it as almost as dry as my flyfishing waders. The traction is unbelievable in all conditions, no slipping except for on ice. The side zip is very handy. In spring 2008 I took an unexpected swim from my canoe in freezing flood waters. I was literally seconds from unzipping the boots and swimming to shore. Luckily I didn't have to and was able to kick float in. Still, it was very comforting knowing that I had the option and it was feasible. I would not recommend these boots for swimming however.

I am a security officer and on my feet 12 hours a day. While the boot was very comfortable the first few months I wore them, the soles seperated from the uppers and they would become damp inside during times of inclimate weather. First pair of boots with a side zipper and I loved that.
Overall, strong out of the gate but did not last as long as they should have.

These are the hottest boots ive ever worn and they dont even have a rating for thinsulate. i work 12 hour shifts at my job and around hour 2 or 3 of my shift i feel like im walking in a swamp even with light to moderate activity. Also, with the composite toe, my pinky toes have suffered a great deal. i dread going to my job because of these boots. i am searching for a new pair but the selection is limited when it comes to black pollishable boots with composite toe. The leather on the toe does not hold up well either as it is peeling off and looks awful. when i find a different brand my rockys will go directly to the garbage.

Simply the longest lasting boots ive owned; my tread never seperated, the boot itself is worn out before the tread is, ive owned 2 pairs and i doubt i will find any that will compare to the durability and quality, i wear them for work and hunting, and i wear them all day without much discomfort, they are great in snow and slick conditions, i recommend them.

I'm into my 4th or 5th year with these boots. I have two pair. I use my Rocky Alpha's for riding both my Road Bikes as well as for work EVERYDAY. I would rather wear these than any of my other shoes and boots. Their easy on and off lightweight and durable.

I've been a police officer for 10 years. I've never purchased anything other than Bates boots, until I purchased these. I will never buy anything other than these AlphaForce boots again. They are by far 10X more comfortable than the Bates that I always wore.

I am a police officer do I am on my feet a lot and I have found that these boots are very comfortable, waterproof, warm in the winter, a little hot in the summer but manageable. I have also found that the soles on them really help on slippery areas, i.e. snow, ice and when you enter a building while your feet are wet. I will defiantly buy another pair. I have had these for about a year and they are the best boot I have owned. I was also in the military for 8 1/2 years and these are just as good as or better than danner's.

I wear these boots daily - for LONG hours - and have never had better support or comfort for feet and ankles than I do from these. [...] My only problem is with the snap cover for the sipper top. The slightest grip error when pulling the boots on tears this flap off. I lost this cover on my first pair in the first week! The liner finally gave out and sole started to separate, after about a year of constant wear, so got much more than I expected from that pair. This new pair is just as comfortable as the last. Even though the flap came off one boot before they were a week old, I still think these are the best boots for me. I do outdoor work and am on my feet 12-15 hours per day. Nothing has survived this well!!

Im a security officer and on my feet 8-12 hours a day. I needed a black boot that could be polished and was comfortable through out the day, the boot wears well after a year the insoles have broke down after continous use. Bought a pair of skecther shape ups and wore them for a month and they were not as comfortable as these, going back to pick up another pair tomorrow and down grade the other boots to off duty wear. hot boots but are waterproof, but the comfort outways this in my opinion.

I have been a firefighter for 25 years. Through the major part of my career, I was sold on a different brand of duty boots. I switched to these based on the fact the GM didn't carry my boot. 2 years of hard wear, I had to break down and buy my second pair. (too many scuff/cuts) I have now switched 4 other firefighters to these Rocky boots. Great support, rugged, and build for comfort. For those of you who disliked or had a bad expirance, give them another try. Several of us in Public Safety will not go without them! Great Boot!
