Q:I have a pontoon at Lake of the Ozarks that isn't used but maybe twice a month during the summer only. I want to know if this charger can be left on all the time during the summer and will it keep the battery exercised and ready when we go to the lake? Also is it safe to leave it hooked up and plugged in? No one lives at this property between trips to the lake house.Asked on 5/28/2009 by Ron from Overland Park, KS
A:For long term storage of batteries it is ok to leave the charger on constantly, but you will want to unplug the charger from the GFCI outlet first (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt outlet) at least once every 30 days. Then check the battery Electrolyte levels, and afterwards, reapply the AC power to your Prosport Charger. This information and more is available at the following link.
