"OK" for the price
I mounted this charger in my 16' boat, and it takes a little longer to charge the battery than I like, but so far it is "OK"

Comments about ProMariner ProMite 5 Onboard Battery Charger:
This charger seems to have better features than my old battery maintainer which was a 1.5Amp unit. My expectations are that this new unit will will improve the lifetime of my boat batteries with the charging and maintaining features. My boat sometimes sits for several months without use, so I keep the batteries in charged conditions with the battery maintainer plugged in. So far no problems. Unit has been installed for about 1 month now.

Q:
2-batteries do I need 2-chargers?Asked on 1/25/2010 by Anonymous from ocala'fl.1 answer
A:
Yes, if you buy this charger. You can also buy a charger that has more than 1 bank. A bank equals the number of batteries it will charge. I have a three bank charger that charges my starting battery and two trolling batteries simultaneously. If you buy a two bank charger it will charge two batteries at the same time.Answered on 3/22/2010 by Splets from Burnsville, MN

This would not be the best for a 3 battery system. I would recommend 71446, which has 3 battery banks.Answered on 11/11/2009 by Bob M from Overton's Tech
