        The call has excellent volume and is constructed well. The cons are that it has a shiny finish and the frictionite doesn't purr as well as a slate call. It does produce great yelps and clucks though. The strap is black elastic with a plastic clip. I bought some trail camera camo skin which I applied to the cover and exterior of the call to eliminate the shine, and it did not affect the sound of the call so I'm pleased with that solution. I always like to carry a few friction calls, box calls, and mouth calls into the woods, so this is just one more to add to my bag of tricks.

        this is a great product its easy to use and it sounds like a real turkey it will strap to your leg or your on the guns stock. the only problem is that it's a little to bulky to be walking in brush with it straped to anything becuase it snags and gets knocked off.

          I had never used a slate call before but had tried mouth calls with no luck. I took a buddy's son with me one morning and he used a mouth call with no luck, as soon as I opened up with the freak the Toms started going nuts. At one point we were surrounded by 5 Toms. He looked at me and said who do I shoot ? LOL We took a 21 and a 20 lb bird that day . I will never go back to a mouth call !

              I had little experience with using a turkey call before and The Freak is very easy to use . As soon as I got it out of the package ,I could use it...Its simple to use and I would recommend it to anyone! A bonus is that it mounts to my leg or the stock of my gun with the strap. My dad and brother are considering buying one to use since mine sounds so good!!!!!
