I had lost my Lohman goose flute (had the Open, Modified and Full rings to control sound) and tried this one as Lohman's calls are no longer being made. Forgot who bought them out.
Could not get the Primos to work as easily as I did the Lohman. Could make honks, but not feeding, etc., sounds.
I eventually went on line and bought a used Lohman Goose Flute. Wish someone would make them on the same pattern again. Why not Primos?

I bought this call at the begining of the season because my uncle swears by the flutes. he used a $60.00 goose flute and i used my primos. the call works great and when he lost his fancy flute, this one turned the geese just a well.

I was out of hunting for a few years and my first hunt back was a goose hunt that I went on with my dad and bother. My bother had this call and let me do the calling. It was as if I never quit calling. I am still using the call 6 years later. Easy to use and would recommend for beginners to experienced callers.

I bought this call recently and at first I was thinking the same thing as the first reviewer. However, if you take the time to learn how to control back pressure on this call (or any short reed goose call) it will sound amazing. My buddies wanted to kill me the first time I took is out, the greeting honks sounded horrible. However, after practice I can now make some amazing sounds with it. It is far and away the best call I have ever used for [$]. Take the time to learn to use this style of call and you will be rewarded. Just yesterday we called in several large flocks of pressure late season resident birds. We only had 10 dekes but this call and a good setup made the difference.
