Comments about Remington Premier Copper Solid Slugs:

I hunt in an area of Minnesota where we can only use shotgun slugs. I started hunting in 2010 using Hornady, but after having a misfire due to a hard primer and watching a nice 10 point buck walk off and disappear into the woods, I decided it was time to change. I upgraded my single shot H&R Ultra Slug Hunter to a Mossberg 500 Slugster 20 gauge, and tested out various ammunition to see which brand it liked best. Remington's Copper Solid slugs gave me the best accuracy, and extremely manageable recoil.
Since I switched to the Copper Solid, I have had no problems with misfires, jams, or anything. I am also happy to say that my hunts have been very successful. Last year I was able to shoot a big 8 point buck, and this year I was able to shoot a trophy 11 pointer. Both were shot using the 20 gauge Copper Solid. I was able to recover my slug from this year's deer, and it looked perfect. The petals opened nicely, and the entire slug was recovered. Both deer dropped in their tracks, and were very clean kills. I don't think I would have continued to hunt had I felt the deer suffered in any way, but with the Copper Solid slug, I'm a much more confident hunter and know that each kill will be quick and ethical.

I love this ammunition, and will continue to use Copper Solids as long as I hunt.

Comments about Remington Premier Copper Solid Slugs:

I have tried many, many sabots for my Mossberg. This sabot (3") is a true killer with my gun. I have put this gun away three times after missing game, targets, etc... This year I figured I would try one last time two shots touching each other at 50 yards. I shot one buck and one doe both about 60 yards on the buck the shot went through both shoulders! This ammo saved this gun!!!

Comments about Remington Premier Copper Solid Slugs:

I use to buy these for 8.99 a box and every year they go up. very accurate, won't use any thing else. I shot a doe at 142 yards, she went 30 yards and piled up! I run 1 box through my gun at the range every year before deer season. too costly to pratice too much.

I have shot deer with the round at 175 yards and still gotten a pass threw. It's a very impressive hard hitting bullet with massive knock down power.

i would recomend using a rifled barrel for superior accuracy but no its not needed

                  • A:

These are for use in rifled barrels because sabot slugs don't have molded grooves, like regular slugs. You lose accuracy in smooth bore barrels because there are no rifles to produce spin and the slug may come out "flipping" end over end. If you have a smooth barrel, use regular grooved "slugger" style slugs...if you have a rifled barrel, take advantage of these super accurate sabot slugs.
