This thing was my fathers day gift from my kids because they knew how much I wanted one. What a piece of chinese junk. Falls apart going down the road, won't pull the boat up either. Going back to the strap winch that came on the trailer.

The only thing that comes to mind about this product is not worth the money it breaks down
alot. Mine short out and I have to jiggle the power cord to make it work. The cable gets stuck and you can't pull ether way. remote you have to be close to the senser to make it work.

First had trouble with the light switch. Then the momentary on/off switch. Now it overloads the circuit breaker. Nothing but trouble since day 1. Went back to 3200lb manual winch. Got stuck at boat ramp 3 times. Now it's an expensive anchor for my bait trap. Had to give it 1 star because that's their lowest rating. Deserves 0 stars.

The cable hangs in the spool and is very difficult to pull out. The cable also wraps around the end of the spool and won't go in or out! Nothing but trouble for three months, I'm giving it to my worst enemy!

Comments about Powerwinch® Wireless Remote Control Trailer Winches - Model RC 30:
I purchase and installed this on a trailer for loading a 23.5 ft fiberglass boat of about 4500 lbs. The unit came and the hand winch didn't fit on the stud, Emergency handle fall out of holder and a piece of the flimsy casing was laying in the bottom of the box. The 1st time I used it it wouldn't pull the boat up on the trailer (so much for 11,500 pull) with the boat mostly in the water. I tried to tighen the brake and the stud broke in my hand.....stranding me with no way to get my boat on the trailer.......PIECE OF JUNK
