    Bought these straps to replace the worn out ones on my Lowe Suncruiser. I immediately noticed that the plastic tensioning mechanism wasn't going to be sufficient in any amount of wind and surely not while under way. I also immediately replaced the metal hooks with the ones that came off of the original straps because they were so light-weight.
    My first trip with these straps in place quickly confirmed my suspicions.

        These straps would be great if the metal clips (to use on bottom) weren't so flimsy. Broke the first time used. (Wind came up)We replaced them with much stronger clips & have a good set of straps now.

            I lost one of the tension straps that attached the bimini top to the pontoon side railing. The original one had two metal clips making for an easy attachment. I searched and could not find an exact replacement. Since these are sold in pairs, I was able to modify and make one that worked perfectly.

                    I had looked all over the internet to find some straps with the clips on both ends and could not find it. I had lost one of my old straps and was using a bungi cord. With the one I still had, I removed the clips and put them on the ends of my new straps. They work fine but not sure how they will hold up to a strong wind. The clips seem a little light weight but over all a good product.
