iv had this reel for abut a year. it started out like a dream and iv caught roughly 500 fish with it. but it sat in the back of my truck for a while and got wet. now it sqeaks and moans but it is still a very good reliable reel. i am in high school and on a bass fishing team. i used this reel in the national turniment and we placed 5th. i caught the biggest fish in the turniment with this reel. good for beginners up to pro

ive had this reel for about 4 months now and it worked like a charm for the first couple months then the line feeder kept jammin so it would feed all the line on the left side of my spool so i had to go fix that and then it started making weird noises when i would cast. now i cant make a cast longer than 10 ft with it. i wouldnt recommend this for an avid fisher.

Comments about Pflueger Purist Baitcast Reel:

Comments about Pflueger Purist Baitcast Reel:
I bought this reel in the Purist combo, and I absolutely love it! The rod snapped on a 32Lbs flathead that nailed a crawfish jig, now the reel is on an XPS Tournament rod and haven't had any issues with it. I have caught everything crappie to 45" muskies and 9Lbs bass to 32Lbs catfish on this reel and have never had even the slightest issue with it. It casts extremely smoothly and as long as you use a smooth cast not a whip cast it will throw a half mile without any tangles.

Comments about Pflueger Purist Baitcast Reel:
I fish rivers, ponds, lakes from both the shore and my boat. pflueger always has come thru for me. I am new to baitcasters (5 years) spend a little extra cash and get a decent reel. Pflueger reasonably priced and quality first. I could spend more but why, when I am happy now.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery company delivered the package to the wrong house, and just left it. Gander mnt was on top of the situation the entire time. Neighbor found package and delivered it the next day.

Comments about Pflueger Purist Baitcast Reel:
The first reel the gears started clicking after 2 days of use. The one it was exchanged for, the gears started slipping (not reeling in) after 2 hours of use. The gears, said the clerk in the fishing section, were made of cheap plastic and chip or round of too easily.
