The Pflueger President offers features a solid aluminum long-cast spool with a super-smooth titanium lip for long, effortless casting. Machined aluminum crank handle offers strength and durability. Graphite body and sideplates will stand years of fishing pressure. 10 bearing drive train will keep turning smoothly for the life of the reel. Double-shielded ball bearings in key locations. Instant anti-reverse one-way clutch bearing. Anodized aluminum spool with distinctive hole pattern for lighter weight. Titanium spool lip for added line protection. These are some of the best reels for the money. I have three different sizes but this is my favorite. Of all my reels (even the high end ones), I seem to keep going back to this one. Casts a mile (using 10lb braid); good line management and an awesome drag. The new version is lighter then the older ones with the wooden handle and the spool is braid ready. The only con is with the lower price they no longer come with an extra spool.

I bought this reel mainly because I needed a durable, smooth reel that I could use for saltwater or freshwater. Last week I use this reel for the first time at Mosquito Lagoon. Caught a nice 24inch Red using light tackle. I was impressed with the performance of the drag system, weight of the reel and how smooth it was. For the price this reel can't be beat. I paired this reel up with a 7' medium fast action rod and 10lb spider wire stealth braid.

Go out and get one!
