Comments about Pflueger Patriarch Spinning Reels, 9535:
This reel is smooth. By far the smoothes spinning reel Pfluege has produced. Great for fishing bass and anything smaller than that.
However, it is not as strong as I want it to be. I had some issues with cranking power and the drag when fighting a 24" striper.
Besides that, this is a good reel for bass.

Comments about Pflueger Patriarch Spinning Reels, 9535:
Very high quality, easy to cast, 7.3 ounces! Lightest reel AND....NO flexing at the neck like my cheaper "plastic" reels do when I caught a large striper. When I consider the hours I use my rod and reel the price is worth the great quality, light (less fatigue) and I would buy it again!

Comments about Pflueger Patriarch Spinning Reels, 9535:
This reel is extremely lightweight and smooth. It is the perfect reel for a day on the lake catching largemouth bass or jigging for fluke inshore. The lightweight construction will keep you from getting fatigued.

Comments about Pflueger Patriarch Spinning Reels, 9535:
The Patriarch is not only good looking, it's a true precision piece of gear. LIne managment is superb - I've got a 9535 on a St. Croix Xtreme loaded with Suffix 832 braid and it's almost magical. Casting is precise with excellent distance. The bail system is positive, high quality. The drag is as smooth as butter - there is no start-up "stutter" at all. I've taken river smallmouth to 18" and the reel has performed flawlessly. If you want the last spinning reel you'll ever buy - a piece of gear that can't be upgraded because it's as good as they come - this is the one to buy. The fact that its under $200 is amazing. It's in the same class of performance as the Stella and Steez!

Doesn't get any better with this reel. I like it better than some of my more expensive Shimanos.
