This combo pairs the Pflueger Medalist aluminum reel with a custom-matched, one-piece IM-8 graphite blank. Nine stainless steel ball bearings deliver smooth operation. Pinion and main gear bearings are fully sealed for protection from the elements. Rugged, saltwater-safe aluminum body, rotor, handle, and spool make for a long-lasting reel. Soft-touch knob offers a comfortable grip. Features selective on/off anti-reverse, anti-twist titanium line roller, one-way clutch instant anti-reverse, sealed carbon fiber drag system, and Sure-Click bail. The lightweight, sensitive graphite blank features durable stainless steel framed guides with stainless steel inserts, top-grade cork handle with split grip design, graphite reel seat, and a stainless steel fold-down hook keeper.

This combo is great. I bought it to catch speckled trout because a spinning rod will cast light weight jigs easier than my bait casters. It has held up well for a couple of years in salt and fresh water. It throws 1/32 jigs with ease and 1 oz. crank baits too. I always rinse the rod and reel in fresh water after fishing in salt. I expect it to last for many more years. (great rod action too!)
