I know that these are designed for a PWC but the lines and snap hook are heavy enough to nicely tie a 20 ft. pontoon boat to a dock. I use one line forward and one aft. For each line I snap the attached hook permanently to the boat, and tie another (metal) snap hook to the other end of the line. That snap hook goes on a ring at edge of dock. To get the correct length, I tie a loop in the middle, between the two snap hooks. It's simple, effective. Bring the boat to the dock, jump on to the dock, snap the front hook onto that ring, snap tha aft hook onto that ring, voila, the boat is secure. When a line begins to fray, replace it with a new one. But in 20 months that hasn't happened yet.

Bought one set to hold the rear of each of my PWC's for daytime suspension between docks. Large wakes from boats snapped both clips on the 1st day. Both my mirrors cracked off when PWC's hit dock side costing me $160 to repair. I will be buying 2 Danik clips to replace them as these worked great for the front of my PWC's. They cost a lot more but I will not be replacing any mirrors going forward. These Kwik Set clips are not even worth the sale price of [$]as they simply cannot handle any boat of any size as far as I can see. These clips did not fit on the front of my PWC's either.
