Look at the product. In order to install the product to the bulkhead, you will have to drill 4 holes from a point over an inch away from the bulkhead. You will then FISH with the 4 installation screws in order to find those holes. Hopefully Perko reps will read this, change the mold, and place the installation holes closer to the bulkhead. That fix would be very easy. There is a work around, install this on a seperate board and then apply that board to the bulkhead. Once installed, it works great.

Comments about Perko Battery Selector Switch:
Putting this on my boat with a second battery. Nothing worse than anticipating a great day on the lake and finding out your fish finder has drained your battery or worse yet, being out on the lake and finding out your stereo has drained your battery. Switching makes sense for safety and for backup.

Q:
I understand about the common and 1 & 2 hook up of the switch, but what about the negative terminals on the batteries and motor cable, how do they hook up. I have already bought this switch and somehow manage to lose the directions. Any help would be appreciated.Asked on 6/14/2009 by Duke from Charlotte,NC2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The negative terminals will connect directly to batteries. You will need to run a jumper cable, from battery # 1 to battery # 2, connecting the negative terminals. The negative from the motor cable will connect to only one negative terminal on one battery.Answered on 6/17/2009 by Casey Marine Buyer from OvertonsA:
The negatives on the batteries are both hooked together and then grounded to the engine. The ground wire should already be installed on the boat so you simply connect the two batteries negatives together.Answered on 6/17/2009 by jd50i from Ringgold, Ga.

CUSTOMER CARE
A:
On the back of the battery selector switch are three studs with 1, 2 , and COM markings. The positive lead from the starter will connect to the stud marked COM. The stud marked 1, connects a positive lead from one battery and the stud marked 2, connects the second positive lead from the other battery. A wiring diagram is included with each switch. If you would like the diagram before purchasing the selector switch please contact the Overton's Tech Department.Answered on 5/22/2009 by Casey Marine Buyer from Overtons
