Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican Apex 130T Kayak<br>:
Used this Kayak in slow to fast water. Excellent stability and very maneuverable for a tandem even in the swift white water of shoals and drop offs. Excellent start to a good Kayak with reasonably good storage. Add the side handles, extra pad eyes, paddle holder and hatches and you will have quite a kayak. Very comfortable seats with adjustable backrest. I am 6'2" and it's very comfortable to me.

Q:
What kind of material is it? The specs say "Ram-X," but what exactly is that?Asked on 4/8/2010 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
It is a sandwich of PE (polyethylene), a solid skin on each side of a more foam-like center. That makes it lighter than solid plastic. And stiffer than the same weight of solid plastic.
Like any PE boat (kayak or canoe), it is great for bouncing off the rocks. But not as light as kevlar or Royalex or wooden construction would be.Answered on 6/11/2010 by david from alaska
