Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican 15.5 Canoe:
I am a beginner but the first and only time i took this canoe out i took it out with someone canoed for 30 years. we could barely get in it. we rolled it three times and the only way we could use it was to sit in the bottom. if both people sit on the seats you are gonna take a dip in the drink!!

Comments about Pelican Boats Pelican 15.5 Canoe:
I pick up and carry this boat alone. I throw it on top of my car carrier and haul it to the river.
I throw a hunk of carpet in it so my dog doesn't snag a toe under the keel tube and paddle it solo.
I take along a canoe paddle and a kayak paddle. great for fishing the back waters. It's quite for fishing and tracks well, more efficent than 2 kayaks if you have 2 people and a dog.

Q:
Can a small motor be attached to this model?Asked on 7/12/2010 by beannie from nyc2 answers
A:
Although not recommended, one could attach a "trolling motor" to the canoe being careful to use a small motor that wouldnt over-stress any point on the hull. Many "trolling motors" are designed to clamp-on to the hull. Keep in mind that a deep cycle battery would be necessary to power the motor.Answered on 9/21/2010 by GreatMind from TennesseeA:
I have used a 16 ft canoe with a 3 hp motor with excellent results. You need an outboard motor bracket that mounts across both gunnels behind rear seat. Motor then mounts on bracket that protrudes outside canoe. Works great! Must have some weight up front to keep canoe level.......a person , dog or duffle works.Answered on 2/19/2012 by Roaming wolf from Florence, Or
