If this is bad your pressure guage would not read correctly since it is like a sensor it won't make noise although i have seen them leak

Answered on 6/29/2010 by Johnny from Cincinnati
      • A:

possible oil leak. oil pressure gauge would be inacurate or non responsive. or could fluctuate.

Make sure that the sending unit is a marine sending unit. Automotive units are setup reverse. Auto units will peg the gauge.
