Comments about Overton's Overton's 1500-lb. Trailer Saltwater Jack:
I purchased the 1500lb Saltwater Jack. The wheel is made of very cheap plastic. The wheel is also too wide and will not pivot around when you want to push your boat into the garage. What you get is the wheel pivoting around about 25% so you end up pushing your boat sideways instead of straight back. I am so disgusted with this model that I won't even consider a replacement from Overton's.

Comments about Overton's Overton's 1500-lb. Trailer Saltwater Jack:
We have a 17-foot fiberglass boat we use in saltwater. This is a little larger than absolutely needed, but it's sturdy and easy to use.

Comments about Overton's Overton's 1500-lb. Trailer Saltwater Jack:
Last a little of a year before it started to stick and skip. And yes I did keep it greased. Sent it back [...]. I took the new one apart and used a whole tube of grease lubed the entire inside. From factory (china) very little grease inside, zerk is so far away from shaft you better extend the whole unit out and pump a entire tube into it if your using it for saltwater. Well see if this will be the cure - otherwise seems nice

Comments about Overton's Overton's 1500-lb. Trailer Saltwater Jack:
While a bit overkill for my PWC double trailer, wanted something that wouldn't corrode after many saltwater dips like my last jack, plus wanted a big wheel for ease of moving the trailer around. This unit does the trick... love the grease fitting, too.

Q:
My trailer set-up (with boat on it) weighs 1500lbs. Does that mean I need to get a jack with a 1500lb capacity or can I buy a jack with less capacity since the jack's not lifting the entire rig?Asked on 5/29/2010 by Adam the boater from Raleigh, NC0 answers
