Comments about Overton's Overtons Daystar 16-oz. Marine Carpeting, 6 Wide:

Was surprised by the quality of this carpeting. Very nice and would highly recommend as a less expensive alternative. I just replaced the cockpit floor of my boat and it turned out terrific. I used the less expensive adhesive Overton sells as well. So far so good.

Used 16 Oz Daystar to carpet the floor of my 1939 Ford street rod. It took some time to make the cuts over the trans cover correctly, but the overall job looks great. I also plan to use it to carpet the trunk.

I needed to replace some carpet on my fishing boat and this looks great. I am very happy with it and I am glad they sell it by the foot. I will need more and you can bet I'll get it here. It showed up in no time. I can't believe how fast it shipped. There is nothing bad I would say about this carpet. Can't wait to get it in. The fishing season is right around the corner. I also thought the price was great. Thanks Again.

I would like to carpet our outdoor wooden deck. We had it built 12 years ago, and we are tired of staining with marine stain. It would need to stand up to our weather in Kansas, and not rot the deck. Any help?

can i use this on the back portion outside on the fiberglass deck area, without gluing it there due to the trap doors for engine compartments. will it soak up the rain water and retain it and become extra weight. or does it dry quickly.

This c uld be done as the carpet will dry relatively quickly. I would at least recommend using snaps on the carpet in this instance.

                        A:

Thats a really tough question because a lot has to do with what region you are in and how much direct sunlight the carpet is exposed too. Example: Stored in MN with a cover and also indoors vs stored outdoors in New Mexico with no cover. Its really hard to nail down a time.

                        A:

This part number 35912 will be 6 foot wide. You specify the length that you need to floor your boat. It is sold by the running foot, meaning that it is all one roll. You need to measure the deck of your boat and figure out how much you need to order. Multiply the length of carpet you come up with by the price given as "each yard" and that is the price you pay for the carpet.

That is not information that is available to Overton's, but you can replace your factory installed carpet with any of the carpet that we offer. It does not have to be the same. I would suggest getting the sample card and deciding which one you like the best. carpet is not returnable and it is not refundable.

As long as the concrete is cleaned thoroughly and dry before you apply the adhesive, it should work just fine. The backing on all Overton's carpet is designed for direct glue down. Customers have successfully used snaps before, but the manufacturer does NOT warranty the product if snaps are used.

                        A:

The difference is the ounce weight per square yard. The 20oz is a heavier duty carpet. To properly lay the carpet and to avoid the carpet coming up, it is recommended to glue the carpet down. You can use the carpet adhesive (item 35911) to do the job.
