      The very first cast with this reel I caught a 28" striper. Unfortunately the bail spring flew off mid fight. It broke and I had to hand pull the fish in.

        I use my 65 on a 6 1/2 ft heavy action rod with 25lb line. I fish maniunly from a pier or seawall, sometimes shore.
        This reel stalds up to the BIG ones as well or better than a famous maker reel I have tried, for FAR less money. I have caught several big snook, grouper, and a HUGE tarpon on it. I love the bite alarm feature on it. Since buying my 65, I bought another 65 and a 55 to update my toys. If you need a new spinning reel, get a bait feeder feture on it....GET AN OKUMA ! !

        Spooled with Trilene XL 20LBS and Match with Okuma 9FT Solaris Surf Rod. ABF-65 Reel is a piece of work. Very Smooth Retrieve even under load. The Bait Feeder is very simple to use, simply flip the switch and adjust how much drag you want.Great with Running Rigs/Fish Finder. Mainly used for Pier & Jetty Fishing.Overall Great Product & Excellent Warranty Program.

          I primarily use the 65 on an 8' e-glass rod for very large catfish. This reel seems to hold up to large fish as well as my Abu baitcasters, still has a bite alarm, yet does NOT have the occasional backlash/spool overrun of the baitcasting reels. What more could you ask for?
