I bought this product to drain the oil from my 402 big block chevy engine in my classic jet boat, since clearance in the bilge is limited. The hose is long enough to clear the transom bilge drain, but not so long that it gets in the way inside my bilge area. I tested this drain hose, before installing the new motor into my boat. Absolutely no leaks! I have purchased many products from Overton's, and I have never had any regrets. This is an excellent product and purchase, that I would recommend to anyone that wanted to drain the oil from an inboard engine without making a mess inside the bilge.

Design Flaws but, may work for your application. My boat's oil pan was very close to the bottom of the hull making it very difficult to screw in the fitting to the pan. When I did get this done the hose was supposed to thread into the 1st fitting. But, it was pointing in the wrong direction which caused the hose not to reach the through hull drain fitting location. You may also have problems getting a wrench on the hose to tighten it due to either hull or oil pan proximity. I returned it.

This is used on a 5.7 Mercruiser to drain the oil pan. Installed today. The fittings were quality items and the hose was of sufficient length and flexibility to allow numerous outlet options.

The product seemed like it would have worked great but the diameter was too big for my bilge pump so I couldn't use it.

Q:
Is that half inch the maximum diameter of the brass cap end?
Hard to believe that with a wrench hex (flats) and with the crimped fitting as well that the diameter is only one half inch.Asked on 10/6/2009 by Bodacious4u from Great White North1 answer

1/2 inch.Answered on 9/18/2009 by Bryant C from Tech DepartmentA:
Be advised that 1/2" is the diameter of the threaded connection, NOT the diameter of the brass coupling that you would want to run through your bilge drain hole to drain the oil while on a trailer. The actual diameter of the crimped brass is over 3/4". I'm returning mine for this reason - can't fit the oil drain hose though my 3/4" drain plug in the stern.Answered on 10/5/2011 by TEC from Maple Grove, MN
